The Definites (2017) follows the story of a woman, Anna, who leaves her husband to be and instead weds her own wild desire, when she flies away to a libidinous, party-filled weekend at Art Basel Miami. Instead, she collides with her estranged sister, Bernie, as they try to navigate and reconcile with the untimely death of their mother.
Currently distributed by Mongrel Media in Canada, The Definites is just started a festival run that includes Whistler Film Fest, Cucalorus, Key West, and Bahamas International Film Festival. Stay tuned for more festival announcements in 2018!

So my co-creator/writer Julian DeZotti and I were thinking, "What if Bernie Madoff were actually a woman?" Then we thought, "what if the real mastermind of the biggest financial fraud in history were actually his secretary?" This is the result of such thinking...
This is my latest short, CHEESE, completed in spring 2014. It stars recent Canadian Screen Award winner Natalie Lisinska, and veteran stage/screen actor Tony Nappo. It is also the first piece created by Aberrant Pictures, my production company with fellow co-prez Mackenzie Donaldson (assoc. producer Orphan Black).
You might find it interesting that my last name has Cheese in it. How perceptive. And that this is shot in a cheese shop. Doubly perceptive. Don't think this didn't help me get the location costs down.
Now onto what it's about: Jamie's no cheese connoisseur. And the macho cheese monger at Global Cheese knows it. So when Jamie buys some cheese for a party, she's unwittingly drawn into a macho superiority contest. Challenged to stand her ground, this is a cheese shop face-off between old-guard patriarch and new-generation feminism.
